I stumbled upon this week's featured seller, Starving Artist Bazaar, on flickr. Her photos are amazing and the colors so vibrant and yet subtle at the same time that they just pop. I had to see more, so I visited her etsy shop.

Starving Artist Bazaar blows glass beads for her jewelry. She marbles saturated color with clear glass in many of her beads which creates a very lovely delicacy to them.
It's not only the beads that I love so much about the work, but the placement and the other materials that she juxtaposes with them. The necklace pictured above, Inside the Box Outside the Box Amoeba Necklace 5, is one such example. Her choice to add the sterling silver components creates an interesting composition of negative vs. positive space, and moves the piece to that of a sculptural status.
The necklace pictured below, Amoeba Necklace no. 7, is another one of my favorites in her shop. This piece showcases 4 of her hand blown lampwork glass beads. The colors absolutely sing together, and the placement of the sterling silver disk acts to interrupt the consistency in size, making the composition asymmetrical (which I love and often incorporate in my own work)!
