I discovered this lovely etsy shop, gulguvenc, and am obsessed. The work is made of glass and some of plastic and the result is ephemeral, translucent, delicate, silent, and absolutely gorgeous!
Gulguvenc describes her process as tertium non data, "an alchemic term which refers to the process of combining two disparate elements to create a new, third element." It's all a mystery to me, but that's part of what makes the work so intriguing. Each piece appears labored over with so many tiny details. The images themselves allude to animals and organisms found underwater. Glass as a medium shares several properties with water: fluidity and translucence. One can't look at these pieces without being reminded of this water world that is such a mystery to so many of us.

Nancy....Thank you for posting this here. I had never seen this shop before. They're amazing!
Those pieces are amazing indeed!!! And speaking of the way the pieces look like water, did you know that glass is actually a liquid? Seriously. Google it.
