This week's Sunday Seller Spotlight brings you Recycled Rings. Her signature item is as pictured below; she puts a fresh and modern spin on old rings that she collects. Each ring is wrapped and embellished with a layer of french knots and beads to create a fun look and interesting textures. I love the contrast between the soft and retro vs. the sleek, modern setting. Textile jewelry is so trendy right now, and right up my alley too (I love anything textile).
Another item found in this shop are these Walnut Necklaces. She adorns the inside wells with glass beads creating a still recognizable but fresh idea. Much like the rings above (and the bag below), the work refaces old images for a very intriguing, almost eclectic look.
When considering the items in her shop I can't help but pick up on the fine arts undertone. It is obvious to me that this artist is taking these wearable/ functional items that she creates and looking at them through fine arts goggles. I would almost feel tempted to put this purse in a shadow box frame in my house rather than use it. Which, I have to say, is really the only reason to own anything these days:)
