This week's edition showcases Lori's work of Tab Made and The Understory. You may recall my purchase of a set of 4 11x14 prints from her photography shop a while back. I truly love her work, both photography and her jewerly and think she is a sweet and very deserving person. I read herblog every day, and also catch up with her on her flickr page from time to time.

The work is gorgeous. Lori has developed a very specific style that links all of her media. "Inspired by unusual nature" is her tag line and this definitely rings true in her subject matter. Beyond the subjects, using a specific palette and heavy texture, the bridge becomes more apparent. Each of her jewelry and ceramic pieces are so complex; she layers beads and strands that have been individually labored over creating each little pod or line of sgraffito.

I've tried to work with polymer clay and so I have the utmost respect (and envy) for anyone who works with it and is so creative with it. The first necklace is amazing!
Lovely pieces. I like her eye for things.
