This week it's all about the mason jars. Since this wedding I'm decorating will have a casual country picnic style reception, what better a way to contryfy it than with these glass lovelies.
Here are some inspirational ideas from the pages of flickr:

I'm definitely using them for candle holders. The bride's father is a firefighter though, so I've been instructed to take extra precautions here. I love the candle lanterns so much, but don't know that that's a direction we'll be able to go in as the event is mostly indoors. But I do know I'll incorporate them in the table decorum and most likely wrap gingham ribbon, crocheted lace, and/ or twine around them. I also really love the idea of writing a message on vellum and wrapping it around one of the candle jars.
I'm also going to incorporate mason jars into the floral centerpieces. One of the wedding colors is lavender so we definitely want to use the flowers in the bouquets and centerpieces too. I'm really loving #2 with the wheat grains in the bottom of the jar to hold the blossoms- very much the style we're going for.

The bride wants to create a champagne punch with frozen white grapes. We talked about how beautiful it would be to serve it in mason jars. What a sweet summer treat!

LOVE mason jars! I went to a wedding reception at an apple orchard once, and they used them for the center pieces. I'm sure that it will look wonderful. :)

Random Creative- That must have been gorgeous! This place is pretty cool- it's got the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains draped all around. Such a gorgeous scene where we grew up!
Susan- Thanks for the link. I'll definitely check it out! It sounds like just what I'm looking for.

I love mason jars (and now I know what they are called in English!). I have several of them in my home. I put tealights in them. They are definitely great for a country-style wedding!
the mason jars are gorgeous. they make wonderful centerpieces for weddings.
Valerie- I too was in love with the wheat in the bottom of the jar of lavender. I think we're going to pick and dry our own and then put grass seed in it to cut the cost some.
Runaway- Oh, I'd love to see photos of your wedding. I'm sure it was amazing!
Duni-They are great for many things, aren't they!
Life Ramblings- I agree! I can't wait to see how it all turns out!
