What Inspires You: An Interview With Siiso

Sunlight Fine Art Giclee Print
1. Please tell us a little bit about what you do.

"I draw, I paint. I love exploring any new ideas and inspirations to transfer into abstract. I love using colors and their interaction to evoke feelings."

2. A lot of your paintings seem to be about a build up of specific textural brush strokes which I find to be so stunning. How do you develop a painting like this- is there any planning involved or do you respond off the cuff to previous marks?

"Some of my paintings were painted many times. Each time I try to create the interesting movement of brush strokes. Usually it has no preplan for each painting. But sometimes I draw a bit for just couple of minutes to outline a basic idea before dive into a painting. The surprise happens while I keep painting. I stop when I feel it right."

3. Keeping our work fresh means constantly seeking new sources of inspiration. Where do you ok to find it and/ or what kinds of sources most inspire you?

"The inspiration can be found anywhere. I love driving to outside of the city to see the natural colors. The landscape and colors with the seasons’ change always inspire me."
