However, two and a half years ago, something just clicked, and clicked for good since I jumped on the workout train and haven't gotten off since. Nor do I intend to. Indeed, now I LOVE to
workout and can't imagine not doing it.
So what clicked?
6 Tips that helped me, and can help you too:

1. Identify your stumbling personal block(s) & then correct them. I had various. One of them was food- not enough, and not the right kind. I used to eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast most mornings. Ever try to put out an hour or two of physical activity after a bowl of cereal? I don't care WHAT the commercials say, it just wasn't working for my body. But now that I drink breakfast, I'm getting way more calories and ones that are actually full of nutrition translated to enough muscle power to workout like a beast afterwards.

2. Do your research & know what the heck you are doing. You know how some exercise equipment says, "get a Dr.'s evaluation before using this?" Well...I don't know who actually would take that literally, but, that's the right idea. You can't expect yourself to just magically "know" what the right equipment for an exercise is or if you are doing that squat properly. It matters because you could get hurt, and then there's just one more reason why not to exercise.

3. Develop realistic goals & motivations for yourself. It is known that diet rather than working out is actually what makes you shed the Lbs. In other words, if you think you're going to run every once in a while as a way to justify that slice of pizza, think again.
What working out actually does for you is boost your overall fitness level of course, including strengthening muscles (which does burn fat & create a different shape to your body) and increasing your endurance, balance, and flexibility. If you are in this only to lose weight it probably won't stick because you won't necessarily see the results you are looking for.
I do have 3 more tips to share, but I'm saving those for tomorrow's post so you don't feel overloaded today! Stay tuned folks!

Great tips Nancy! I need to get to the grocery store so I can try your smoothies. I'll probably eat them for lunch as I like coffee with my breakfast and two drinks might be weird...LOL :)
And we definitely need to work on our weekend diet!
you are so right. I think my biggest downfall is that I'm too lazy to cook my own meals, and depend on DH (who is a meat man)to cook for me. I have to overcome that... Yes, I have a ton of excuses! {:-D
These are awesome tips, Nancy! Thanks so much for sharing all of this! You know that this is the perfect timing for me!
Hugs xxx
I need to eat every two hours to maintain energy throughout the day. I tried aerobic workout, but that just wasn't for me. I switched to yoga and tai chi and this works fine, however I'm not as disciplined as you in keeping it up every day ;-)
I agree with you, make working out and eating healthy a habit and you will never look back. It's got to be a lifestyle change and not just something to do for the short term. I lost 45 pounds doing just that...and am thrilled with my new lifestyle and new bod!
I've been pretty consistent about exercising since I found out I had scoliosis, but my big problem is cooking. I'm super lazy in the kitchen. The worst. I've been making a conscious effort to be better, but there's still plenty I can do.
I can't wait to hear your three other tips!
I hate working out! I'm hoping one day it will just click for me. Haha!
Great tips, Nancy. Will you be sharing your exercise program? I always like to hear and learn from others.
Great tips Nancy! Healthy eating along with exercise is so important for all of us. I always feel so much better when maintaining a routine of both!
Great post... I've gotten on the right path a couple of times and then once out of habit for even a few days it's hard to get back into it again. You're right though - it has to be your lifestyle and one you hook on t the earlier the better before health problems set in.
I've fought routine after stopping my 9-5 job, but it's now time to have a new routine that's good for me and not punishment.
Look forward to your next post on this!
