A Month In Posting: June/ July Mash.

Since I took off a 3 week break right in the middle of these two months, I figure I'll have a sort of summer so far mash post:)

I have to say, our summer has been pretty great so far.  Firstly, we had our first of two family wedding receptions.  It was beautiful, fun, and over too quickly!  I worked pretty hard up to the date (June 30th) making DIY projects like our mail box card box.

Throughout both months, I kept up the making momentum, although most things were related to our wedding events in one way or another.  I knitted another herringbone cowl, this time as a thank you for my Aunt (who hosted our reception).  I made a commitment as part of Project Sewing 101 to make a set of 12 wallets, tissue covers, coin purses, & sunglass cases for gifts for the attendees of my upcoming bachelorette party in August.  I also took a bit of time to appreciate art & discover new artists at Artscape, an annual craft fair here in Baltimore.

I did manage to get a few things done that were not mandates of our reception too!  Continuing on with our house renovations, I put the finishing touches on our guest room and finally created an art gallery wall in a hallway.   I enjoyed a bit of time in our garden, both taking care of the plants, & harvesting for cooking.  And lastly, my latest obsession, I've been glued to the TV for the last few days watching the Olympics!

Even though August is already well underway (gosh it snuck up, huh?), I know it will be filled with many more sewing projects, Olympic viewing, and hopefully see us planning our next wedding reception down south!
