Made: Project Sewing 101- Coin Purses Revisited.

Back at the very end of May, when I created my first close to successful coin purse as part of Project Sewing 101, I vowed to make a stack of them for further practice & mastery of this skill.  Well, here it is, several months later and I have a stack of 8 (soon to be 12) completed & flawless (according to me) coin purses!

The best part about them to me?  In the images below, you can see my fumbling, bumbling zipper edges of the first coin purse I made and compare it to the ones I can make now!  Something just clicked, and I figured out how to make them cleaner & neater looking.  I credit closely studying this tutorial by Stelabird.

Question- Have you conquered any of your stumbling blocks lately?

great job! Do these have a future in your shop or are they just practice?

I really like theses Nancy! Great job! I bought a sewing machine and made a few tops and a dress (simple ones) Then my machine got really messed up and I haven't touched it since. I should try to fix it, I could really use some new curtains in my studio.

They look fantastic. And the zippers look great. Zippers are something that I struggle with. Maybe someday it will click for me. :-)

They look great! I agree with Duni about the mix of fabric and linings. I also love the zipper pulls. So happy for your successes with sewing!

Beautifully crafted!! I know zippers are tricky, but it appears you've mastered them! Cute bags.

BOOM! Take that, zipper ends! I still have not mastered the art of the zipper, but I did figure out all sorts of things about my bobbin last winter. It's like a lightbulb went on, and now my machine is so much easier to use.

They look amazing! Zippers can be such a pain sometimes. I don't have a zipper foot and at the beginning I kept breaking my needles! It was so frustrating I gave up on zippers for a while.
I'm so happy the tutorial was able to help you! I try my hardest to make it easy to follow.

Those turned out great! I really like your fabric and design choices. I finally finished my Sadie bracelet and that feels pretty good to have that done!

Fantastic, Nancy! Bet you can (almost) sew in zippers with your eyes closed now. :-)
