Friday Updates- Headed in the right direction.

Thank goodness and finally!  This week was actually pretty good and decently productive.  With each day I felt stronger and more able to get up off the couch and do things for progressively longer periods of time.  So here are some of the highlights:

I made this cake.  It was pretty amazing and we ate it for breakfast almost every day, which was kind of a bad idea- I'm out of the habit of having a smoothie in the morning now.  But I'll get back on track with that as I feel better.

I ventured back into sewing, which I desperately missed the two weeks off I was forced to take.  I designed a purse in my head which I hope to dabble with soon and I started cutting and assembling pieces for my next Project Sewing 101 bag.

My sweet kitties followed me around and watched over me all week.  Which, to be honest, isn't much different than any other week.  But it makes me smile to think that their little kitty selves knew and were watching out for me;)

Finished a book, ordered the next (I reserve books online at the library so I can just go in and pick them up).  Yea, way to get caught up on politics from the 80's- LOL.  Interestingly enough though it was mostly still relevant.  Garlic and Sapphires is my next read.  Supposedly it's pretty good: the memoir of a pretty well renown food critic in NYC, so we'll see.

Question: What have you been up to this week?

Glad you're recovering. Cake for breakfast -- you're speaking my language. Although I've been eating Greek yogurt most mornings lately.

Love the pleats on your soon-to-be bag -- and the fabrics! Blueberry cake for breakfast is fun! Might have to try that recipe if I get in the baking mood!!

Your kitties are so sweet. Cats are sensitive souls :)

Do your kitties love you being stuck on the couch? Because Milo certainly loves me being here. Sometimes when he gets in my way now I think he's trying to injure me more so I have to stay with him longer ;)

The cake looks delicious. Sometimes comfort food is just the right thing when we do not feel 100%! I am glad you are able to get back into the swing of things. Kitties are great at giving unconditional love. Mine always make me smile!
Happy reading. Garlic and Sapphires sounds like a great read. I would be curious to know more about what it is like being a food critic. The book probably has a lot of humor.
