Made: Project Sewing 101- Kid's Reversible Cape.
In this week's edition of Project Sewing 101, I've created maybe the cutest thing ever! This is a fully reversible kid's play cape. Inspired by my soon to be 4 year old nephew, who's Birthday is this month, I found this adorable comic strip fabric and lined it with a simple red cotton:
This project was SO easy to make! Probably the most difficult part was cutting the fabric, since this was my first project where I was given a diagram with measurements to follow rather than a pattern (following the book 1-2-3 Sew by Ellen Luckett Baker). But, I'm a smart girl, so I soon figured it out:)
In fact, it went so quickly that I decided to make a little girl version for a certain 2 year old I know:
This chapter is proving to be a lot of fun. Next? I get to make a reversible little girl's skirt. This chapter was timed perfectly in time for holiday gifts!
Question: Are you making any holiday gifts this year?

Love it! Super cute and you are right - right in time for the holiday season!
Happy Monday xxx
That is such an adorable project! You could customize the size for kids of any age. It works perfectly for costumes and dress up play.
Cute capes! I am sure there are going to be some happy little kids soon. It sounds like it's going to be a fun chapter, I can't wait to see your next creation.

That's so cute! I wish I had a cape when I was little!
Those are really cute! Shhhh - I will be making little Christmas goodies for my grand girlies ;-)
Oh, somebody's gonna be really happy with that cape!
I love sewing projects like this for kids...this is the gift that will keep on giving because of its creative applications!
Too cute! I love the polka dots and pink...and you look mighty cute modeling it :)
Can't wait to see the skirt! My niece loves to dress up!
The capes are so cute! I'd have loved those for my girls when they were little.
I don't know if I'm making anything! Usually by the time the holidays roll around, I'm so tired from making things for my business that I don't feel like hand-making gifts. :/
Oh wow, that is adorable!
Very cute Nancy! What a lucky little guy.
Really cute and so fun for a kiddo! Is it crazy that I kind of want to make some for my dogs :)?
So cute, Nancy!
The girls and I love to make things for family for Christmas - the projects don't always end so well - but it is always a fun process! lol!
OMG! I love these! The recipients are going to love you too for making them! I love the idea of a reversible skirt too. Have fun with that project.
I'm going to show this to my daughter. She was talking about possibly making a cape for my grandson for Christmas! Nice!
