Lately I've been a bad blogger. Very, very bad!! I'm afraid I've been busying my hands knitting and sewing away trying to race the clock and complete my handmade Christmas before the big day (or at least, before I see each person next).
With each stitch, I feel my insanity growing. Why did I commit to this??? It's all worth it of course, but if you are a knitter, you know how many hours are invested in just one lovely, soft gift. Just how many gifts am I making this year? Well, here are the totals:
6 kids= 4 boys are getting suit vests, ties, and suspenders; 2 girls are getting newsboy hats, along with a matching scarf (below) or skirt.
6 adults= receiving a myriad of gifts ranging from some of my new handbags to cowls & these lovely fingerless gloves.
This lovely pair went off to my niece. See the use of my new name labels there??? I decided to line the scarf & band around the hat with fleece for extra warmth, which allowed a great surface to attach my labels too:) I hope she loves them!
The gloves pattern comes from Chrissy over at Whimsical Poppysmic. They are so, so amazing. I can knit a pair in just a few movies (OK maybe 3-4) which means that depending on how long I've got each day to devote to knitting they are easy enough to whip out pretty quickly.
I've chosen to work with a silk/ bamboo blend, so they are warm, so, so soft, and practically melt in your hands. I'm just thrilled with the way these are coming out!! The count?? 2 pairs sent off; 2 others in the wrapping queue; 1 on the needles; and 1 left to go after that! And then of course, I must make some for me too.....
Question: What's keeping you busy these days???

Lucky recipients! I love your gloves, Nancy! The bamboo/silk blend sounds wonderful. Are you going to sell them in your shop?
Ooh, those gloves are gorgeous! Same question as Susan: will you be listing these in your shop?
:)
You busy little bee! I made a handful of gifts too, and scored some others on Etsy. Very few things came from non-indie sources this year. High-five for handmade!
And I third the question: are you going to sell those?
Wow, you are very ambitious! Everyone is going to love their gifts. I really like the plum/purple color. Great stuff!
how lovely to be able to knit gifts, that are functional. I love functionality! I love your labels, too! I'm busy writing and reading. And exercising - not like most people exercise on the BBA team, though... {:-D
Those fingerless gloves are AMAZING!! And I love the newsboy hats! You have been one BUSY needle-clicker!
Merry Christmas!

Wow, what a huge undertaking! The recipients are going to be thrilled. I have a couple pairs of fingerless gloves and adore them. The pattern and yarn look wonderful.
It is so fantastic that you are following through with a handmade Christmas! The recipients will love and appreciate all the work you put into each piece for them. Those fingerless gloves are adorable and look super comfy!
Oh, my gosh, I can see how you'd feel like you're going crazy! But they're all really lovely. :)
Not much is keeping me really busy, at least this week. I'm taking it easy. :)
Lovely gifts Nancy! I admire your planning. I just finished one gift this year. Happy Holidays!
