Valentine's Recap.
How was your Valentine's Day friends? My man was away all day into the night hard at work (as usual), so I decided to treat myself to a special day filled with little things that make me smile.
First, I gave myself a manicure. I went with red- only appropriate.
Secondly, I made a tall stack of the best pancakes I've ever eaten. I do love a good blueberry pancake, and we happened to have buttermilk in the fridge, so I followed this recipe. Not to a T though (of course). I didn't want raspberry of course, nor any syrup other than maple. But, what I found curious about this recipe is that it directs you to separate the eggs, beating the whites to stiff peaks and then gently folding them in. Not only were these mighty tasty, but they were the lightest, fluffiest pancakes I've ever had!
Thirdly, I bought a bottle of pink moscato, and enjoyed it paired with a brownie sunday (I had homemade ice cream and brownies in the freezer just for this occasion of course) after dinner.
And finally, I decided to skirt work in the afternoon and treat myself to a TV marathon of Once on netflix, a since canceled series about fairytales that's pretty interesting and worth a peek if you like that sort of thing.
Question: Did you do anything special for Valentine's Day?

Sounds like a pretty great day! Homemade pancakes, ice cream, brownies and pink mascato...I couldn't put a better day together!
Jesse and I went out for breakfast and he brought me home a bottle of my favorite wine...mascato too :)
That's an awesome day! I like the brownie sundae especially.
I went to class, then worked for a while, then fell into a black of hole of reading Downton Abbey articles, and then made stir fry with Hubsey before we watched Netflix all evening. So it ended up being pretty nice. :-)
How nice to have a day filled with little treats just for yourself! Everything sounds lovely.
Well, if you can't be with your guy, then that sounds like a lovely option! LOVE your nails--they look very nice.
Sounds wonderful to me and those pancakes look delicious! I love moscato and Once sounds perfect for a day without the mister! xxx
I love blueberry pancakes and yours look yummy! Yes, they become fluffier when you beat the egg whites separately!
Glad you enjoyed the day even with your hubby out at work :)
Sounds like a great Valentines Day to me! Bet M is sorry he missed it! :) I love pancakes but my hubby doesn't so I'll have to remember to make them for my own special meal sometime!
I saw your post earlier today, and got so distracted at work! But had to come back ... those pancakes do look completely delicious! and how fun! Glad you enjoyed your day

We had a nice breakfast too. I stayed at home all day, and tried to stay off my sore foot! Nice nails... that would be a treat for me. I never do my nails. {:-D
It sounds good to me!
And those pancakes look great!

I'm a fan of blueberry pancakes, too, with real maple syrup of course!
